The Fat Beat Diet, July 18th

Once again starting it nice and mellow before winding things up into some newer rhythms. I’m on a bit of a Kaytranada kick these days, just like everyone else it seems. No wonder, that dude is making amazing music. His two tracks here and the Sebastian track that precedes them are straight jacked from his Montreal Boiler Room set (something something about DJs stealing).

While you’re checking out new music, be sure to peep the Double Agent Media stuff on Calgary’s own Make Believe records imprint.

Pretty happy with how this show turned out. Hip hop through breaks on to house. Plus some respect paid to some fallen luminaries. I’m even going to overlook that moment when I smacked the needle out the groove and on to the record label…

Mostly hip hop, with a bit of funk and soul and the end, including the (not so?) coincidental playing of a Bobby Womack track just ahead of hearing about his passing.
